| Discover Ston with its 5-kilometer long walls, a city built in the 15th century according to a plan with a rectangular scheme of streets and squares. Ston is renowned for its delicious oysters and mussels that you will taste in one of the local restaurants. Another landmark of Ston is its old salt ponds where the salt is still produced today in the old way. We continue to the Arboretum in Trsteno with a 15th century summer residence of the Dubrovnik patrician family Gucetić-Gozze surrounded by a beautiful Renaissance garden. Enjoy a view from its pavilion over the islands or take a walk to the baroque Neptune’s fountain immersed in the luxuriant subtropical vegetation of magnolia, black bamboo, laurel, eucalyptus, palm and camphor trees. Trsteno is also famous for its two gigantic 500-year old plane trees. |
